Hi,

As far as I know the "high" quality setting uses YTM "codec 251" : OPUS160kbps, wich is transparent / FLAC équivalent.

I noticed the addition of a mysterious "320kbps" setting in latest Innertune, which does nothing here : files are always in OPUS160 éven with the 320kbps setting activated.
I also know that YTM provide another codec configuration called "codec 774" which should be OPUS256kbps (even better than transparent :D lol).

But afaik YTM doesn't have any "320kbps" codec configuration, so please help me ubderstand :/

I Hope you're not transcoding opus160 into mp3320 ?
Thanks for the great app

I was wondering the same thing today🤔

168 kbps even if the 320 is activated

It is not possible to modify the songs on the server, but you can improve them through the application

Improve ? Please explain :)
Transcoding 160kbps OPUS to 320kbps produce a resulting 320kbps file worse than the original 160kbps file (applying lossy codec 2 times is worse than 1 time).

Please, could you explain how you manage to provide 320kbps. Its not possible to do this by starting from 160kbps files. The only way to produce 320kbps music file is by encoding a Flac file in 320kbps opus or aac. Do you mean that you have Access to the YTM Flac catalog ?

In case you transcode 160kbps opus into 320kbps : you reduce the sound quality meaning that the q320 setting of your app is inferior to the "high" setting.

In case you don‘t transcode but just apply an enhancer dsp : you may call the setting "very high" but not "320"
