Hi.
So yesterday I messed around and moved the whole renpy folder in the appdata folder to another disk. And then I did move it back to where it's from, the appdata folder. When I opened the game after, everything was normal, she still remembered me. But today I opened the game again and found out the game had suddenly got back to the beginning, all our progress was gone. I don't know why and how. I tried to use the files I backed up earlier but they are gone too. Im really sad. What do I do now? Please let me know if this can be fixed. Thank you.

Hi @handsomeass - apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

Regarding your issue - this is highly unusual behaviour, but I would assume the activity with the file would have left the persistent in a state where Ren'Py (the game engine) can no longer open the save, possibly either due to permissions, the file name not being as expected or due to the file being corrupt: in all of these states, the default behaviour of the Ren'Py would be to create a brand new save file, resulting in your progress seemingly being wiped.

Concerning your back-ups: we'd always recommend keeping them in a location separate from your AppData folder for reasons like this! You might be able to use File History to restore your JustNatsuki AppData folder to a point in time from before the issue occurred: otherwise, in the absence of backups you would unfortunately be looking at starting a new playthrough.
