DAB Board for RPI compatibility with qt-dab #246
Comments
Hi Jan
I am not familiar with that board, but I just sent an email to them for
some more information, always
interesting! If they send me some data what the tuner/DA converter is
about, I know more and let you know
best

… Hi Jan,
Here's also Jan from the Netherlands....
I've got a question about a HAT for RPI called DABBoard, it's developed by
ugreen.eu .
Have you ever heard of this board and do you have any idea if this would
be compatible with qt-dab?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Groetjes, Jan

_Dat is snel, het lijkt Overtoom wel ..... Thanks for your quick reply. I have attached some info I found on theirwebsite. |
Hi, Hi, I don't know qt-dab good enough. But qt-dab is a SDR, which means it is doing the heavy lifting of DAB decoding in software. The DABBoard instead is using the Si468x chip, which is doing the decoding on the hardware. Despite this, it is probably possible to change qt-dab in order to get its data from the Si468x, so basically you would mostly use only the GUI from qt-dab. But I don't know if that makes too much sense because qt-dab's main feature seems to be to show the decoding. KR Christoph |
I got a similar anwer, depending on the interface to the chip it may be
worthwhile to create an interface

Just a hin, Jan, I know own such a ugreen DABboard, too. But let me first try to get existing software running. The shipped software is buggy and does not understand service names with special characters (Österreich). |
Great. I'm curious what your experience will be. If I can do anything to help, please let me know.
Thanks, Jan
