Question: Template based on tracker/custom fields

I wonder, if it is possible to create templates based on the custom fields of a tracker.
Lets say, I have a tracker "test" with custom fields "expected results" and "test steps".
I would like to create a template and prefill those fields.
I was not able to manage that.
Is it possible or is the only option to prefill the descriptions field?
