The challenge was to look through a list of retro games and recreate one in JavaScript with a new twist. I felt inspired by a game I played in my childhood called Escape Velocity. Nova Override was built loosely on the idea of asteroids but features enemy ships that can shoot back, and has incremental waves of ships to add greater levels of difficulty as the game progresses.
