Chips and full-width autocomplete

This topic was raised in angular/material#4450 And there was solution angular/material#7750

In our project we have material 2.0.0-beta.10 and I can't reach desired behavior and can't find any docs for this particular version (I know this version is too old but the project is too large and we can't upgrade to latest at the moment).

What is the expected behavior?

When autocomplete dropdown appears it occupies full width like here angular/material#4450 (comment)

What is the current behavior?

It is too narrow like in this example https://codepen.io/mxab/pen/xwbZBL?editors=101

What are the steps to reproduce?

Can't install @angular-material 2.0.0-beta.10 in playground

Which versions of Angular, Material, OS, TypeScript, browsers are affected?
