When tabs are created and $mdThemingProvider.alwaysWatchTheme(true) is used, the tabs' titles transition from black to white, which is very uneasy on the eyes:

This doesn't happen when using $mdThemingProvider.alwaysWatchTheme(false) or when not calling this method at all.

Affects Chrome, Safari and Firefox.

Can, be traced to d1d58bc (cc @robertmesserle).

I'm not much of a CSS wizard, so I'm not really able to provide a fix.
