Vagrant box's version format ("13.4.0-2") gives Vagrant 1.6.x heartburn

I'm unable to add the joyent-base64 box to Vagrant 1.6.5; it throws the following error when I attempt it.

$ vagrant box add apetresc/joyent-base64

A version of the box you're loading is formatted in a way that
Vagrant cannot parse: '13.4.0-2'. Please reformat the version
to be properly formatted. It should be in the format of

Is it possible that Vagrant 1.6 stopped recognizing embedded Vagrantfiles in base boxes for security reasons?

I've made a bare-bones joyent base box and have started using that in combination with specifying all configuration items myself.
