What is the problem that we want to solve?

An incorrect display may result when using a Quickstart Finder view, going to a new page, and then returning to the Finder page.

To reproduce:

  1. On a page using the Quickstart Finder, use the exposed form (e.g., check one or more checkboxes) to filter the view content.
  2. Click on one of the items in the filtered view content to visit a new page.
  3. Go back in your browser to the page with the Quickstart Finder.
  4. Observe that the Reset button for the Finder may be missing and the view content may be reset to default, even though the checkboxes have not been reset.

Currently, it appears that this issue cannot be reproduced with incognito/private browser windows or fresh browser installations: there may be a browser configuration or extension which is causing this Finder behavior.

Findings on Chrome extensions:

  • appear.in screen sharing 1.1.1: Recommend removing from Chrome. Doesn't seem related to this issue.
  • Color Contrast Analyzer: Removing this extension solved the issue
