Alternative ways to discuss circus library #1163
Comments
Sorry for the late answer, but I'm all in for using the Github Discussions for this. The space is open, I believe anyone can start a discussion :) . |

There is some controversy around Freenode these days, and we still advertise #mozilla-circus on Freenode as a primary place for discussion.
Even though, there is usually nobody on the channel, I feel like we need a place to discuss the library and also the place for contributors to answer questions.
We have several alternatives: stay on Freenode IRC, move to Libera.Chat IRC, GitHub Discussions, Matrix.org channel/community, Mattermost, Slack, Discord, and many more.
Given the fact that IRC is too "hardcore" for the majority, and the amount of questions/issues is not huge, and we don't have many resources to moderate the community tools, I think the best way is to enable GitHub Discussion and abandon IRC entirely.
What do users and contributors think about that?
Tagging @k4nar for inputs.
