With the Distributed Billing capability Cloud Yourself automates the distibution of costs to internal cost centers accoarding to the costs-by-cause principle.

Vision

Enable an enterprise to distribute all costs in connection with cloud usage to internal cost centers in a fully automated way. The system is able to process costs that originate from cloud providers as well as from internal operations teams and makes shares of those costs to internal cost centers completely transparent for all involved employees.

Business Outcome

The system enables an enterprise to distribute costs in connection with the use of the cloud to individual cost centers in a fair manner accoarding to the costs-by-cause principle. By distributing costs this way an enterprise can reduce the general costs apportionment especially for cloud usage. Making sure the originator has to pay for all incured costs fosters cost awareness especially at the point where decisions about sizing of cloud workloads are taken and finally helps the enterprise to save money. The automation and transparency capabilities of the system save work time and foster cloud adoption at the same time.

MVP Description (currently in development)

With the MVP of this system, a user sees costs caused by the cloud accounts within the self service environment. The costs are automatically imported from the Azure cloud. The costs automatically imported will be automatically divided to different allocation keys so that the users can finally find the costs per cost center for each billing period within the self service environment.
