The main change came from an old "random" branch which was being used to build the jars. That branch has since been deleted so I had to recreate the change in my local branch. The other yml changes are needed to build on the mac.
With these changes and using https:/lriggs/arrow-build I was able to build and then use 9.0 based Gandiva jars.
