Optimized widget integration and user experience

As discussed with @lampholder this is just a meta issue to collect all related issues and track their status.

We want to further increase the user experience of our meetings widget and created some feature requests and bugs regarding widget integration and user experience. These are the issues:

P1

• Allow widgets to query the user directory
• Allow widgets to upload files into rooms
• Allow widgets to create rooms and spaces
• When calling the Widget API using .readRoomEvents just after a page reload, only a subset of events are returned
• Allow widgets to receive updates on user settings

P2

• Extend capability of io.element.widgets.layout event
• Optimize widget discoverability
• Display m.body in tombstone
• Optimize Jitsi widget message
• MSC2192: Inline widgets

Done

• Provide high contrast theme to widgets
• Allow downloads from widgets
• Allow widgets to use maximum vertical space
• Disable popout feature for widgets using the Widget API
• Pushing widget layout sometimes brings Jitsi back
• Allow to set a customized room invitation message
• Inconsistent behavior and delays when widgets read/receive events in encrypted rooms
• Allow widgets to read all existing events of a certain type
• After refreshing the browser, content of meeting widget isn't shown
• Expose the redact endpoint to widgets
• Find users Widget API function
• Provide language settings to the widget iframe
• Unhandled promise rejection in requestOpenIDConnectToken
• Add token cache to requestOpenIDConnectToken function
• Modal widgets don't appear to be able to use various widget actions
• Remember identity verification for widgets
• OIDC Token request inside modal widgets throws No matching user widget to form security key
• Modal widget button disabling doesn't appear to work
• Provide dark theme setting to the widget iframe --> Modal widgets don't have access to the same URL templating as normal widgets
• Hide rooms from room list
• Allow to pin and expand widgets on room creation --> Support a flag on widgets to automatically pin them to the room
• Allow modal widget buttons to be disabled when the modal opens
• matrix-widget-api doesn't receive room events in end-to-end encrypted rooms
