2019-07-10: Flux has moved house

Notice for Helm chart users

Unfortunately and against expectations the move broke our Helm chart repository due to GitHub redirecting everything except for GitHub page URLs.

The new chart repository URL is: https://fluxcd.github.io/flux.

2019-07-08: Flux is moving house

We'll be moving the weaveworks/flux repo, and associated repos, to a new GitHub org, and publishing container images to a new DockerHub org, this week.

This is to facilitate the adoption of the Flux project into the CNCF sandbox. The motivation for the move is that the CNCF will be a better venue for collaboration, as Flux grows beyond a single-vendor project.

You do not need to take any action now: flux and the helm-operator will work as before, and PRs, issues and so on will be migrated to the new org (and redirected from the old).

We'll maintain backward-compatibility in the current minor version (1.13) and for at least one more minor version release. This means:

  • container images will be published to both docker.io/weaveworks/ and docker.io/fluxcd/, so you can use either;
  • existing deployments of flux and the helm-operator will continue to work as before, even if you update to new images or images from the new org.

After that, it will be necessary to update configuration when upgrading. You will get plenty of warning before this becomes necessary.
