naming: email confirmation

The code (and maybe also user-visible strings) currently use 3 names for the same thing:

• email verification
• email validation
• email confirmation

Let's use the latter everywhere for that concept/process. Correspondingly, let's exclusively use the verb "confirm" rather than also "validate" or "verify" when referring to this.
