Banhammer is a function designed to prevent "lazy" SPAM, i.e. SPAM messages which are spread over thousands of websites without any modification. The idea of Banhammer was first brought up in a discussion on webdevRefinery.com.
Banhammer contains the Wordpress plugin "wp-banhammer" which uses the banhammer function on incoming blog comments.
