Transparency and .mov format

This is maybe a long shot, but I wonder if there is a way to use this library to programmatically generate videos with an alpha channel (transparency)?
As far as I know, mp4 does not support transparency but mov does, but I’m not sure how different those two formats are, or if there is another way to get transparency with mp4.
