A small percentage of Mac users have reported an "Unsupported manifest version specified" error message in Safari Preferences → Extension settings for The Magic Highlighter.

Context

This error message is a reference to a web extension standard that is used by Safari Extensions. The Magic Highlighter uses Manifest V3, which is only supported by Safari 15.4 and newer. Safari 15.4 was released with iOS 15.4, iPadOS 15.4, and macOS 12.3.

We may look into the possibility of converting The Magic Highlighter to Manifest V2 as time allows. In the interim, we will be updating the App Store listing with an upcoming release to amend the operating system requirements to those that ship with a supported Safari version.
