Inappropriate highlighting that can't be turned off

If I search Google for "what is the population of the us?" and then select a result (the specific result doesn't really matter), such as https://www.worldometers.info/world-population/us-population/?cmdf=what+is+the+population+of+the+us%3F then Magic Highlighter says it found "us? (0)", but all the "u" letters are highlighted and all the letter combination "us" are highlighted. And if one strikes "us?" from the MH menu, then "u" and "us" remain highlighted all over the page. Even with all items struck out, the page is covered with highlights.
