The upcoming IPFS 0.5 release (#6776) includes significant new features and improvements that will have been tested by Testground, but not in the wild in a variety of network configurations (ex nodes behind NATs). Therefore, as part of the release process we should build and deploy a "beta" build of ipfs-desktop to diagnose early whether there will be any unexpected consequences to routing/discovery/etc not discovered by our extensive Testground testing that only appears in more complicated user environments (NATs, etc).
