Currently, match.xpath() returns a fully indexed XPath expression, even if the index is not necessary.
match.xpath()
This:
/document[1]/library[1]/books[1]/book[1]
Could also be expressed as:
/document/library[1]/books/book[1]
It should be possible to indicate to the xpath() method:
xpath()
