"visor" / global hotkey mode?

Would it be possible to support something like Visor/Guake/iTerm2 does where you can assign a global hotkey (e.g. Ctrl+`) to slide down a global terminal session that's docked to the top of the screen? The idea is making it like the consoles in games like Quake.

I love Kitty but ever since I first tried using terminals like this I cannot go back to my terminal sessions floating around in windows
