Describe the bug
I'm combining, Tray-Icons-Reloaded with Transparent Top Bar, and I get a black block behind the icon.

Desktop (please complete the following information):

  • Distro: Debian 12
  • GNOME Shell: 44.9
  • Extension version: 27
  • Display server: Wayland

I have a same problem under Gnome 46.1 (Wayland too)

I solved the problem by changing my tray icon extension to AppIndicator not ideal but in case somebody needs this ASAP.

Hope tray-icons-reloaded can fix the bug soon

It's worth noting you don't even need a transparent/colored bar to notice this. Simply hovering it makes it very obvious, due to the background change.

Any ETA on this? Unfortunately this issue still persists :(
