This Python script allows you to remove the password protection from an Excel file. You can run this script locally on your machine or use the provided online service.
Before executing the program, you need to have a password-protected Excel file that you want to remove the password from.

Add Password Protected File: Place the password-protected Excel file (
.xlsx
) into theimport
directory or any directory of your choice. -
Run the Script:
- Open your terminal or command prompt.
- Navigate to the directory where the
ExcelPasswordRemover.py
script is located. - Run the script using Python 3 by executing the following command:
python3 ExcelPasswordRemover.py

Follow the Prompts: The script will prompt you to provide the file name and password for the Excel file. Follow the prompts to enter the necessary information.

Unprotected File: Once the script successfully removes the password protection, the unprotected Excel file will be created in the same directory with the prefix
unprotected_
added to its name.
Alternatively, you can use our online service to upload the password-protected Excel file, and it will automatically provide you with a download link for the unprotected file.
