[bug] trash auto deletion of 30 day old mails

Aren't trashed mails older than 30 days supposed to be deleted ?
I've scrolled deep inside to check whether old mails exist. And it seemed they do. Even 6 months old mails exist too.

I believe this is a platform independent server bug. Not the client bug.

Currently emails are deleted a bit shortly after 30 days they have been moved to trash

That is the date you received the email, not when you moved the email into the trash. The email has to be in the trash folder for 30 days. The 30 day buffer is to prevent accidental deletions in case you accidentally move something important into the trash.

Did you move the email into the trash on those dates, or only recently?

Also, a side note, I do not recommend using that blur filter for censoring your images. I can very easily read the subject of the last email in that screenshot. I'd censor using a black box instead.

@paw-hub I don't remember when I trashed the last ones though. I will wait a month more & see whether they get deleted or not.

Anyway to answer your question, we regularly run a subroutine that purges emails that have been trashed for longer than 30 days. This means that, while an email won't be instantly deleted exactly 30 days, it should be within a couple of days or so, depending on when this function is run.

If deleting an email is time-critical, you can always delete it manually by moving the emails to your trash, and then select the emails you want to remove and press the delete or backspace keys or tap the trashcan icon. All data used to access the email (such as its encryption keys) will then be destroyed, and the data for the email itself will be removed very soon afterwards.
