Steps to reproduce

  1. Send a link like http://domain.xyz/foo/bar-_stuff-like-this_-in-it.jpg

The same problem was recently fixed in Element Web, see element-hq/element-web#4674

Outcome

What did you expect?

The link is send without markdown formatting.

What happened instead?

The link breaks due to being interpret as markdown.
