With so little information you provided, I am afraid no one can help you. Please, provide the board, the exact command you used, and the exact error message you got.

Well, you are not being helpful, I don't see the full settings or the design. Why can't you just copy & paste the JSON settings? And provide the board as KiCAD file (possibly only the outlines without any geometry)? So I am afraid I still can't help you.

But a wild guess - any chance that you set tolerance to 0? Or you specified the source area as a rectangle that doesn't include your board.

I create empty PCB (panel), and in KiKit I opened PCB which I would like panelize. And I still got the same error.

Fresh install of KiCAD 6.0.5 and first install of KiKit 1.0.5. Windows 10.

I just installed a fresh 6.0.5 and KiKit 1.0.5 on Windows 10 and I still cannot reproduce the problem your report:

Is there anything you can think about that could be exotic about your system?

Are you creating panel on the same board as you would like to panelize?

No, in a standalone instance of Pcbnew (as I instruct in the documentation).

The problem exist when an alias is used for "Edge.Cuts" layer. "Krawędziowa" in your case. Just open your pcb in text editor and remove alias right after the word 'user', as below:
(44 "Edge.Cuts" user )

Hey @yaqwsx I don't know if this is a regression but I tried it today with KiCad 8.0.5 and kikit 1.6.0 on ubuntu installed via pypi and I got the same error. I also had to remove the alias after (44 "Edge.Cuts" user )

After removing the alias, kikit went further but I am now struggling on another issue (multiple outlines)

Appeared in 1.0.5+98 on my exotic Windows when I had the panelization design UI open on a new unsaved board. (Kicad might have interpreted the filename as .kicad_pcb.kicad_pcb or some BS)
