Hi! I agree with all you say and the panel looks fine. I generate the V-Cuts into User.Comments layer, and I always leave a note when ordering that V-Cuts are in this layer. I intentionally don't render them into the Edge.Cuts layer as it breaks the 3D preview of the panel. So far, I haven't had a problem with JLC PCB. However, I know many users that generate the V-Cuts into the Edge.Cuts layer just to be sure (and as JLC PCB requires). |

I want to try ordering from JLPCB my own panelized boards.
I choose a simple bar-shaped PCB which holds a dozen WS2812b RGB LEDs including some SMD caps. I will solder them myself.
I've now used KiKit to panelize it the simplest way possible:
Since there are no rounded corners, this seems to be the easiest way. Still, I'm not sure if that can be produced or if it needs a frame? It has the minimal dimensions (larger than 70x70 mm) that JLCPCB expects.
Therefore I changed it to this:
This adds some sacrificial material, but is maybe better to handle?
Which one would be the recommended way for simple V-cuts?
There is also another question about the layer the V-cuts are on. KiKit creates a layer called "User.Comments" and exports a layer/file called "*CmtUser.gbr" when using the included JLCPCB profile.
They write on their website:
But the layer only contains the cuts, no board outline. What do the they mean by that?
