Isolating Hentoid storage

This page aims at explaining how to isolate Hentoid storage for better privacy.

Hentoid does not and will not handle encryption natively for technical reasons (see #686). We recommend you use specialized apps to secure Hentoid data.

Which apps are recommended ?

Manufacturer apps / settings

• Samsung : Secure Folder (aka Knox)
• Xiaomi : Second Space

• Lenovo : Secure Zone

Independent apps

• Shelter
• Island

How do they work ?

These apps basically create a second account on your phone. The second account is isolated from your primary account, and requires your password / fingerprint to unlock.

Last but not least, be aware that the level of security will vary between Android versions, manufacturer customizations, and user configuration. You are ultimately responsible for the level of security provided.
